THE STARTING MATERIAL
Bio-fermentation uses microorganisms to transform renewable plant sugars into precise, surface-active molecules.
The result is a glycolipid: a molecule that combines a water-loving sugar head with an oil-loving lipid tail. One side attracts water. The other binds to oil, buildup and impurities—allowing them to be lifted from hair and scalp and rinsed away.
This is not a botanical extract added to a conventional cleanser. It is a different way of creating the cleansing molecule itself.
A DIFFERENT CLASS
Many surfactants described as plant-based still rely on chemical synthesis, petrochemical inputs or tropical oils. Biosurfactants are produced through biological synthesis.
